Made in the USA Generally speaking if your turbine has larger than a 10 foot rotor diameter and or is rated for 2.5 KW or more you may need more than one clipper. The 4,000 watt AC Clipper comes in several different resistance values. The standard values available are 0.4, 1.0, 1.6 and 4.0 ohms per phase. Please contact customer service for help picking the correct resistance or if you need a value not listed. The MidNite Clipper is designed to control Wind or Hydro turbines and work with the Classic to charge your battery. The Clipper communicates with the Classic to slow the turbine when the batteries are full, and also contains a stand alone self powered adjustable max VOC limiting circuit. The AC Clipper is designed to work with AC turbines and was designed for 3-4 kw maximum turbines. The AC Clipper comes standard with 1.6 ohms of resistance per phase. MidNite Solar can custom build other resistance values upon request and have designed an easy to change resistor insert for the Clipper allowing changes in the field. In comparison to CIGS solar cells these cells can withstand weather better and we have actually left a cell outside for over a year through rain and heat and it still produces good power. I must say these are very robust cells for do-it-yourself applications. The output of 1.6 volts is about 3 times the voltage of a standard solar cell. So when combining them to create a 6-volt output to charge USB devices or 12-volt output to charge your typical car battery you will need to connect 1/3 the number of cells.
