Victron Smart Battery Sense with 10m Long Range The Victron Smart Battery Sense with 10m Long Range is a versatile VE.Bus Smart dongle that offers Bluetooth Smart enabled VE.Bus interface battery temperature and voltage sensing capabilities. It provides real-time system information directly to your smartphone through the VictronConnect app which is available for free. This dongle is specifically designed for use with Multi-inverter/chargers allowing compensation for possible cable losses during charging and discharging. The Smart Battery Sense Long Range dongle is essential for accurate temperature-compensation during battery charge cycles. It is particularly useful for MultiPlus-II models that are not connected to a GX device and CANbus battery as it is currently the only way to add an “on-battery” sensing capability to these models. Whether you have a GX device or not the dongle can be seamlessly integrated into your system. In systems with a GX device and another source of temperature and voltage data such as a CANbus battery the CCGX data will take precedence over the dongle”s information. However the dongle will still provide live-information through its VictronConnect interface and can perform firmware updates without an internet connection. If your system does not have a GX device the Smart Battery Sense dongle becomes the primary source of voltage and temperature data. Other connected devices can utilize this information for voltage compensation. In systems with a Multiplus-II dongle and GX device but no other source of temperature and voltage data from the dongle will also be used. The VE.Bus Smart dongle is equipped with two methods for battery temperature sensing. The default method utilizes the dongle”s on-board temperature sensor which senses the battery temperature directly from the battery casing when the dongle is mounted onto it using the adhesive attachment. The second method which provides improved battery temperature sensing involves using an optional battery-terminal mounted sensor.
